Autograph Delivers Digital Mixing Upgrade To Legendary London Venue
The Roundhouse in London’s Chalk Farm started life as a railway turntable in 1847. Since 1964 it has been a performing arts venue, hosting a vast array of musical and theatrical performances as well as awards ceremonies, the BBC Electric Proms and numerous iTunes Festivals. Subject to a two-year, multi-million pound redevelopment completed in 2006, the Roundhouse is also a registered charity and runs a creative programme for 11-25s through the Roundhouse Trust, utliising the various media facilities located beneath the main performance space.
It’s a key requirement of a popular and multi-functional performance space that the audio infrastructure should be appropriately equipped and contemporary so to this end the venue has recently purchased a new DiGiCo SD10 digital mixing system from Autograph Sales & Installations.
The package of equipment included a DiGiCo SD10-24 control surface (the compact, 25-fader version of the SD10) with flightcase, an SD-Rack fitted with the OpticalCON fibre-optic option and configured to provide 32 input / 40 output channels, plus accompanying fibre-optic multicores. Autograph’s Peppe Mallozzi also conducted training sessions on-site for the Roundhouse crew immediately after delivery.
