Autograph At The New Everyman Theatre, Liverpool
Autograph Sales & Installations were delighted to contribute to a major new theatrical facility in Liverpool, the new Everyman Theatre, run by the Liverpool & Merseyside Trust who are are also responsible for the nearby Liverpool Playhouse.
Consultants Charcoal Blue engaged us as part of a roster of suppliers to help deliver the new build, with each bringing dedicated, specialist knowledge to a particular area of the project. Autograph Sales & Installations were contracted to supply turnkey playback systems (a Mac-based rig running QLab), wireless microphones and rehearsal systems. 18 channels of Shure UHF-R wireless equipment were supplied, custom-configured into four separate systems which can be used standalone or combined as required, and which also include a headphone monitoring capability which cascades between the racks.
Bodypack and handheld transmitters were both fitted with DPA 4060 elements, while we also dealt with the necessary frequency licensing issues. Additional equipment included stage boxes, multipin connectors, various cabling, microphone and loudspeaker stands, a DiGiCo SD11 console and an array of Clear-Com Partyline and Freespeak units for comms.
The part of this contract that was completely unique to Autograph however was in the supply of a number of their ‘Signature Series’ PC and MADI changeover units, completely custom-engineered for the Everyman into ‘work straight out of the box’ solutions. These products were developed by Autograph Sound, the company’s rental division who are the world’s pre-eminent suppliers of theatrical audio, who wrote the book on (among many other things in theatre sound) redundant playback systems. These devices provide failsafe backup for show-critical playback material, switching between Mac Mini and Mac Pro computers using DiGiCo UB-MADI devices as interfaces.
