Rambert Dance Company, Meyer Sound And Autograph

In 1964, the legendary Merce Cunningham staged the first of his “Events,” or site-specific choreographic works. The Rambert Event, created in 2014, aims to mirror the same immersive dance experience that Cunningham strove for 50 years ago. Featuring pieces of “Events” choreography restaged and arranged by former Cunningham dancer / Rehearsal Assistant Jeannie Steele and specially-commissioned music by Philip Selway, co-created with Adem and Quinta, the Rambert Event brought its unique beauty to Phillips London this winter.

Rambert recently purchased a new Meyer Sound system from Autograph Sales & Installations, comprising four UPA-1Ps, four UMS-1Ps and one MDM-832, which is used for all of the company’s live choreographic music. Their audio engineer Jonathan Clarence handled on-site production engineering duties for the Phillips event while the live sound was mixed by Mikko Gordon. “Rambert have used Meyer Sound products for over three decades; why would they use anything else? Meyer's consistent, reliable and valuable sound is always contemporary.” said Clarence.
