The Palace Theatre Watford Upgrades With Autograph
Watford Palace Theatre is a contemporary receiving and producing house, creating innovative new works in various performance disciplines.
Housed in a Grade II listed Edwardian building originally opened in 1908, the 600-seat facility includes its own rehearsal space, wardrobe, and bar. A multi-million pound refurbishment programme, funded via the National Lottery, was completed in 2004 and extended the facilities, enlarging the stage house and adding permanent dressing rooms, counterweight flying and improved technical facilities as well as adding more public space, air conditioning and new seating, and a lift to all levels and improved disabled access.
Autograph Sales & Installations recently delivered a package of audio equipment which helps to bring the theatre’s sound system and capabilities right up to date, echoing the newly-modernised surroundings.
The package centres on a new DiGiCo SD10-T digital mixing console, supplied with one SD-Rack and two SD-Mini Racks, with all the mixing system components inked via a DiGiCo Optocore fibre-optic loop. The mixing console is also fitted with Waves cards to allow simple plug-in effects compatibility and was supplied in a custom-colour flightcase to match the theatre’s colour scheme.
Autograph also delivered a package of DPA microphones (including a selection of their ultra-compact 4066 headset microphones in various skin colors) as well as a package of d&b audiotechnik products including a D80 multi-channel amplifier with DSP control and four d&b MAX12 compact co-axial monitors.
