Central London Student Facility Energised By Autograph And d&b Audiotechnik
Founded by Mary Trevelyan and still based in the Great Portland St premises acquired by her in 1965, the International Students House is a charity dedicated to British and international Students in London. It provides a wide range of facilities which are available to students attending one of the universities which are part of their International Partnership Scheme in addition to over 600 residents.
In addition to its key role in providing centrally-located affordable student accommodation, students also have access to a bar, live music venue and restaurant in addition to extra benefits including a scholarships programme, welfare officer, hardship fund, a programme of free events and activities for residents and even a Christmas entertainment programme for students that are staying in London over the festive period.
Autograph Sales & Installations recently completed a major overhaul of the audio system in their bar, which hosts a range of activities including private parties, DJ / Club nights, karaoke, quiz nights and more. The project was led by Autograph’s Adam Broom who specified a d&b Audiotechnik system comprising two d&b 10S, two 10SD and one 8S loudspeakers with two 18S subwoofers, all of which were driven by a single d&b four-channel installation amplifier.
All the necessary system control is handled centrally by a Yamaha MTX3 processor which is in turn controlled by a wall-mounted Yamaha DCP4V4SEU Digital Control Panel which gives instant access to key functions and allows recall of presets dedicated to specific uses. Adam also used the Dan Dugan Automixer Algorithm that is now part of the MTX3 architecture, which automatically optimises microphone gain distribution, effectively reducing feedback and comb filtering issues.
